Joseph S. Nacca represents clients of the firm engaged in a variety of industries, including real estate and energy. He was involved in the firm's successful defense of a claim brought by Florida State University Foundation against a client, where the Foundation tried to enforce what it claimed was a $2,000,001 charitable pledge made by the client. Joe assisted in preparing and arguing motions, worked with expert witnesses, drafted direct and cross-examination outlines, and assisted in drafting the closing statement.
Joe helped win a multi-million dollar federal contract claim for the commodities division of a Fortune 200 energy company, including drafting the pre-trial memorandum and proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law, and assisting with designations of witness testimony. He also drafted the firm's brief on damages.
Joe was with Kirkland & Ellis before coming to Novack and Macey in 2005. After law school, he served as a law clerk for a year for the Hon. Lawrence E. Kahn in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.
Born in Canandaigua, New York in 1978, Joe currently resides with his wife, Lea, in Chicago.
